Biography
Arya Abdollahi is an Assistant Professor and researcher in the field of electrical systems at the Polytechnic University of Bari, Italy, specializing in electricity markets, advanced control strategies, and optimization techniques for modern smart grids, with a particular focus on microgrids, renewable energy integration, hydrogen storage systems, and AI-based energy management. He holds a Master's degree (MSc) and a PhD in Electrical Engineering – Power Systems from the University of Azerbaijan, where he graduated with the highest academic honors.
His research activities contribute to advancing the observability, reliability, and flexibility of distribution networks through studies on μ-PMU placement, stochastic state estimation, congestion management, and multi-carrier energy system operation. He has participated in projects funded by the PNRR within the PRINCE Lab and has published numerous papers in prestigious international journals, conferences, and several book chapters.
He is Assistant Editor for the journals Scientific Reports and Algorithms (since 2025). He also serves as a reviewer for numerous high-impact scientific venues, including Electric Power Systems Research (EPSR), Energy, Journal of Cleaner Production, IEEE Access, and others.
