Biography

Cristoforo Marzocca graduated in Electronic Engineering in 1989 from the University of Bari. In 1989, he was a fellow in the National Program for Microelectronics. He began working as a university researcher in Electronics in 1992 at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bari, as an associate professor in Electronics at the same university in 2003, and is currently a full professor for SSD IINF-01/A, starting in 2022. He has been and continues to be a full professor of undergraduate and graduate courses covering basic and advanced electronics topics. He has been the supervisor or co-supervisor of about thirty master's theses and about 30 bachelor's theses, acting as a tutor for numerous curricular internships.
He is a member of the Faculty Board of the PhD program in Electrical and Information Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bari and has been a tutor to five PhD students. He is currently co-tutor to a student in the joint University-Polytechnic University of Bari PhD program in "Smart and Sustainable Industry." He has participated in several research projects of national interest funded by the Italian Government (PRIN, PON), the National Institute of Nuclear Physics, the Puglia Region (POR), the European Community (PASSEPARTOUT H2020, EVOQUE H2020), and private companies (National, Infineon, and local small and medium-sized enterprises). As part of these projects, she has collaborated extensively with national and international institutions (IBM Boulder, Inesc Lisbon, INFN, CERN, ST Microelectronics, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Infineon Villach, SLAC Stanford). His main research interests are the design and testing of analog and digital integrated circuits, the characterization of integrated devices, the study of solid-state detectors for applications in the field of High Energy Physics and medical imaging, the development of front-end electronics for detectors, and the development of compact interface circuits and systems for sensor applications. He is the author or co-author of approximately 190 scientific papers in international journals and international conference proceedings. His H-index is 21 and the total number of citations is 3990 (source: Scopus). He is a reviewer for a dozen international scientific journals and is the academic editor of the journal MDPI Sensors. He is a founding member and currently chairman of the board of directors of the Politecnico di Bari spin-off company Microlaben s.r.l., which develops innovative electronics for advanced sensors.
