Biography
Elena Sibilano is a fixed-term researcher (RTD-a) in Bioengineering at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bari.
She obtained her bachelor's degree (with honors) in 2019 and her master's degree (with honors) in 2021 in Medical Systems Engineering from the same university.
In December 2024, he obtained his PhD in Electrical and Information Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bari, discussing a thesis on the development of advanced computational methods for the decoding of neurodegenerative diseases based on EEG signals, under the supervision of Prof. Vitoantonio Bevilacqua.
In 2025, she received the National Bioengineering Group award for the best doctoral thesis.
In 2024, she was a visiting PhD student at the Department of Data Analysis at Ghent University (Belgium), under the supervision of Prof. Daniele Marinazzo.
Since April 2025, she has been involved in the research project "Integrated Healthcare System for Genetic Cardiovascular Diseases" (SISAGEN-CARDIO), with the aim of identifying new markers for early diagnosis, therapeutic monitoring, and prediction of drug response in genetic cardiovascular diseases, through an integrated approach to research in the omics sciences.
