Filippo Attivissimo, PhD, is Full Professor of Electrical and Electronic Measurements at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Bari.

As a member of the academic senate, he is responsible for the Bari branch of the National Group of Electrical and Electronic Measurements.

He conducts research in the field of industrial, medical, and environmental sensors. He works on artificial vision systems and the metrological characterization of devices and systems for environmental applications and renewable energy sources.

Member of the editorial committees of Journal Acta Imeko and Sensors, he is a referee for the journals IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, Digital Signal Processing, Measurement, Journal of Physics, IEEE Sensor Journal, Sensors, Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, and African Journal of Agricultural Research.

Included in the list of the 70 authors with the most publications of all time in the journal Transaction on Instrumentation and Measurement, he is co-author of more than 250 scientific papers and head of the multidisciplinary OpenMultiLab laboratory at the Polytechnic University of Bari.
