Biography

Francesco Dell'Olio obtained his Master's Degree and PhD in Electronic Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bari in 2005 and 2010, respectively. He joined the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bari as a researcher in 2015 and is currently an associate professor in 2022. Dell'Olio is a regular member of organizing and program committees for international conferences, including CLEO, SPIE Photonics West, and the IEEE Photonics Conference. His research focuses on silicon photonics and nanophotonics, with particular emphasis on the modeling, design, and characterization of devices and integrated circuits for telecommunications and sensing. Recently, his interests have expanded to include wearable electrochemical and colorimetric sensors and miniaturized embedded sensor-based systems.
