Biography
Paolo Lino is currently Associate Professor in SSD ING-INF/04 (Systems and Control Engineering) and deputy coordinator of the Master's Degree Course in Automation and Robotic Engineering at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Bari. He graduated in 2000 from the Polytechnic University of Bari with a degree in Electrical Engineering and obtained his PhD in Electronic Engineering and Systems and Control Engineering the University of Catania in March 2004. In 2003, he was a Visiting Researcher at the University of New Mexico, New Mexico, USA. From 2005 to 2007 Assistant Professor (tenured) he held a research grant and from 2011 to 2022 Assistant Professor (tenured) the Polytechnic University of Bari. At the Polytechnic, he also served as a member of the elected council of the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering and as academic coordinator of a Level II Master's Degree in "Technological Innovation in Mechatronics - MIMEC." Since 2024, he has been the representative of the Polytechnic University of Bari on the Board of Directors of CRAT - Consortium for ResearchSystems and Control Engineering Telecommunications. He has been teaching at the Polytechnic University of Bari since 2003 in disciplines related to Automatic Control and Robotics for first and second level degree courses. He has held numerous specialist courses and seminars abroad. His main research interests concern the modeling and control of linear, nonlinear, and non-integer order systems, and robotics. He is co-author of a monograph and over 100 articles published in international journals, internationally distributed books, and international and national conference proceedings. He has been a member of the organizing committee of numerous international conferences and currently serves as Topic Editor for the international journal MDPI Sensors.
