Notes on the Data Protection Officer (DPO)
As established by Articles 38 and 39 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, the Data Protection Officer performs support and control, advisory, training, and information functions relating to the application of the Regulation itself and the processing of data subjects' data (thenatural persons to whom the personal data refer) .
The Data Protection Officer cooperates with the Supervisory Authority and acts as the point of contact, including for data subjects, for matters relating to the processing of personal data.

Privacy Policy

Privacy policy pursuant to the European Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data (2016/679)

The Polytechnic University of Bari is implementing consistent and targeted administrative measures to update its privacy policy in accordance with the new European Regulation 2016/679 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data.
They will be updated in compliance with the legislative decree containing provisions for the adaptation of national legislation to the provisions of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, which is still being examined by the Special Commission for the Examination of Government Acts of the Chamber of Deputies.

The information notices and all data processing will be based on, consistent with, and compliant with the principles set out in the European Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data, with particular regard to the lawfulness, fairness, and transparency of the processing, the use of data for specific, explicit, and legitimate purposes, in a manner relevant to the processing, respecting the principles of data minimization, accuracy, storage limitation, integrity and confidentiality, accountability (Article 5 of the Regulation).
RIGHTS OF DATA SUBJECTS

The subjects to whom the personal data refer, or the interested parties, have the right at any time to obtain confirmation of the existence or otherwise of such data and to know its content and origin. The rights described in Chapter III of the GDPR (EU) 2016/679 are guaranteed, and in particular in the following sections:

  • 2 – Information and access to personal data:
    • Article 13: Information to be provided where personal data are collected from the data subject;
    • Article 14: Information to be provided where personal data are not obtained from the data subject;
    • Article 15: Right of access by the data subject;
  • 3 – Rectification and erasure:
    • Article 16: Right of rectification;
    • Article 17: Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”);
    • Article 18: Right to restriction of processing;
    • Article 19: Notification obligation regarding rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing;
    • Article 20: Right to data portability;
  • Section 4 – Right to object and automated decision-making concerning natural persons:
    • Article 21 – Right to object;
    • Article 22 – Automated decision-making concerning natural persons, including profiling;
