Electrical Engineering – IIET-01/A
The IIET-01/A Scientific Disciplinary Sector – Electrical Engineering is composed of tenured professors who belong to two research laboratories: the Spintronics Laboratory and the Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Main Research Areas
They cover various fields relevant to spintronics, renewable energy, neural networks, and energy harvesting:
- design of nanometric spintronic devices (ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic) for energy harvesting applications, and mechanical, medical, and aerospace sensors, including in array configurations;
- design of nanometric spintronic devices (ferro- and antiferro-magnetic) for non-volatile magnetic memory applications, including those based on non-uniform magnetization states;
- design of nanometric spintronic devices (ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic) for security applications (Physical Unclonable Function);
- design of neural networks, Ising machines, and reservoir computing based on nanometric spintronic devices;
- Modeling and diagnostics of photovoltaic systems, infrared analysis of photovoltaic systems using drones, applications of renewable sources in agricultural greenhouses, impact of renewable sources on the energy distribution system.
