Master's Degree Program in Electrical Engineering

The Degree Program in Electrical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Bari aims to provide engineering expertise in the design, planning, and management of electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution systems, as well as their efficient and technologically advanced utilization.

The development of modern society relies on the availability of energy in forms that can be readily converted into light, heat, motive power, electromagnetic waves for information transmission and processing, and chemical actions. Electrical energy stands as the most efficient medium for converting from other primary energy forms and for long-distance transmission.

These characteristics render electrical energy indispensable across numerous applications in all daily activities, be they domestic, industrial, or service-related. Electricity is emerging as a critical energy vector and an exceptional opportunity to drive the clean energy transition and energy decarbonization, as there will be an increasing trend to utilize electrical energy for services that currently do not employ it (electrification).

Electrification can yield a range of benefits, from supply convenience and security to enhanced energy efficiency, improved urban air quality, and 'customer empowerment' through greater flexibility and sector coupling facilitated by digitalization. Within this framework, the electrical engineer will play a pivotal role.
